Colored Pencil

Graphite drawing is an art form using graphite, found typically in pencils. I use it to create images with a variety of tones from light gray to deep black on subject matter that ranges from nature to genre to still life.

Intaglio
Etchings

Intaglio is an etching inscribed on a zinc or copper plate which is then submerged in nitric acid to solidify the inscribed lines.

Relief
Prints

A relief print is created by using tools to carve negative spaces from either wood or linoleum blocks. The positive image is then pulled from the block by rolling ink over the raised surface and transferring it to paper or other medium under pressure.

Ceramics

Ceramics is a common term for working with clay or porcelain to create three-dimensional utilitarian or sculptural art. Ceramic items can be created on a potter's wheel or by hand and can be fired in a kiln or left to air dry.

Watercolor
Mixed Media

The versatility of watercolors can be used to create delicate or bold images. When combined with other media, such as colored pencils, pastels or graphite, the transparent quality of the water-based paint can create even more dynamic images.

Oil

I love working with oil paints. They are forgiving, the colors are brilliant and because oils are slow-drying, I can use the time to regard my work and take it in a new direction.
